A special message from the President and CEO of Lakeside Educational Network…
I sit in a unique position. I watch incredible staff, who are whole-heartedly committed to teenagers, give their time, skills and giftedness to the students who are referred to Lakeside Educational Network.

In our 4 schools and through our other programs, we provide a variety of educational and clinical services to approximately 1500 students per year, all of them teenagers. The environment is dynamic, nurturing and empowering for both our staff and students at Lakeside.
Like ripples in a pond: making a difference
Lakeside is a microcosm of individuals and professionals who are working directly with our teenagers in America today. Teachers, school administrators, youth pastors, youth workers, counselors, medical personnel, coaches, volunteer mentors, juvenile justice staff, human services professionals and many others are truly making a difference in the lives of our teenagers.

But I should acknowledge the most important group: parents, grandparents and family members. The stability of our teenagers depends on how well they are connected to a healthy family, for nothing can replace the love and care a family can give to a child.
During this Thanksgiving Season, I want to say a big thank you to all of those who are advocates and caregivers for our children. Your work is invaluable, as you shape the future of so many lives. I do hope we all can leave proud legacies with our children and teenagers.

And I would ask you to remember how important it is for each of us to be extremely aware that the small things we do with our teenagers have significant impact to those young guys and girls who depend on us. Words of care, loving guidance, teaching, protection, help to define boundaries, and discipline along with communication that affirms are crucial to the healthy growth and development of our teenagers. I know it takes a lot of time, energy, money and sacrifice to make sure our teenagers are properly nurtured.

For this Thanksgiving week, on behalf of all of our teenagers and those of us who care so much about them, I want to say thank you to you all. During this holiday season I do hope you can rest and enjoy the blessings we possess in our country and in our families. I so appreciate each of you and all that you do for our kids every day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
