What Happens in Early Childhood Can Influence Adult Success

Much research is being published these days which validates the benefits of good early childhood education, as it impacts teen years and adult life.  Also the converse is true. Adverse childhood events also have impact to adult life. For this reason, we are beginning to see more funding and emphasis towards early childhood education in our country.

Finally the paradigm is shifting to understand effects of early childhood experiences

What does this shift mean? Essentially, it means that what happens in kindergarten is a lot more important that we used to think.

Here is an article from Kelly Wallace at CNN that suggests the strong impact of kindergarten on success in adulthood: http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/16/living/kindergarten-social-skills-adult-success-study-feat/index.html

Invest in our children’s early years

It just goes to show that we need to invest in the early years of our children very much the same as we do older children, teenagers and college aged-students.  It is a proven reality that even kindergarten teachers and classroom environments have a major impact on the rest of their lives.
