Change, even during a single day, can be difficult for some people. True, simply changing classes or classrooms can be anxiety-provoking for some students. What is behind this fear of change? It is a latent anxiety (often based in trauma) which causes the person to feel insecure because he/she cannot anticipate or distinguish how impactful the change or transition will be. So, how does therapeutic brain-based music ease this fear?
The Breeze CD is designed for assisting daily transitions

The Breeze CD is designed primarily to smooth daily transitions. Many individuals who have trauma-like symptoms are fearful or even hyper-vigilant when changes or transitions occur. Whether as simple as a change in location (such as changing classes) or a more significant transition from one environment to another (such as going home from school or work), this style of music can assist the shift in a one’s day or experience.
It relieves the anxiety of the question, “What’s next?”
Listeners of Breeze will notice a gentle wind-down. The music features slower and more undercover tempos and groove tracks that calm but do not put you to sleep.
You may also hear some songs that seem a bit familiar as some were written with specific instrumentalists in mind. Thanks to those who have provided us with the wonderful musical experiences.
Listen to Breeze to handle environments of change and transition
As in all music, certain songs will have different impact depending on the individuals and situations in which it will be played. It is best recommended for use in environments of change and transition, such as:
- in hallways between classes
- during transportation between home and school or work
- in heavy people traffic areas such as reception areas
- even at home when there is a need to wind-down the day
Lakeside welcomes your feedback.
It is always helpful to get feedback as to which specific songs help listeners work through transitions in positive ways. This CD was written and recorded by Joe Hesh, our music therapist.
The Breeze CD is a part of a set of five trauma-informed music CDs. They have been developed to have a brain-based impact for listeners, to help them deal with high levels of stress or post-traumatic stress. The entire set will be available from Lakeside Connect in just a few weeks.
We are excited about this soon-to-be released set of CDs. We hope they will help children, teenagers and adults better cope with varied levels of stress in their lives.
